Looks like a florentine and tastes like an ANZAC biscuit!
Equipment You'll Need
Spatula
Big mixing bowl
Scales or measuring cups
Saucepan
Baking trays
silicone mats or baking paper
Oven
Ingredients You’ll Need
200g flaked almonds (approx. 1 cup)
50g rolled oats (approx. ½ cup)
30g pepitas
10g black sesame seeds
1 can (320g) coconut condensed milk
15g golden syrup
15g shredded coconut
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp vanilla
Step-by-Step Method
Preparing the Mixture
In a bowl mix together flaked almonds, rolled oats, pepitas, black sesame seeds, shredded coconut.
In a saucepan on low heat, melt together the condensed milk and golden syrup, stirring with a spatula until warm.
Pour the warmed mixture over the dried mixture and using a spatula make sure the entire mix is coated by folding gently.
Baking the Florentines
Heat oven to 160 degrees.
Lay out a baking tray covered with a silicone baking mat or baking paper.
Use a dessert spoon to spoon out even amounts of each mix. Keep them spaced evenly – I fit 8-9 per tray.
Place trays into oven and set a timer for 14 minutes.
Cool in fridge before peeling off of the paper.
If you choose you can drizzle melted chocolate over the Florentines once cooled.
